SB is an established Chicago-rooted hip-hop artist, performer, educator, and cultural voice whose music, live performances, and creative work have reached audiences across the United States and internationally.

For decades, SB has built a career around the belief that hip-hop can entertain, challenge, educate, and inspire. His music brings together hip-hop, soul, jazz, rock, and R&B while addressing social issues, personal growth, community, culture, and the possibilities that emerge when art is used as a force for positive change.

Throughout his career, SB has appeared on concert bills featuring an extraordinary range of artists, including Common, Erykah Badu, Amel Larrieux, Dwele, Talib Kweli, De La Soul, Little Brother, Eric Roberson, KRS ONE, Slick Rick, Dead Prez, Lupe Fiasco, Rhymefest, PJ Morton, Raheem DeVaughn, Kev Brown, Oddisee, Ken Starr, The Pharcyde, Souls of Mischief, The Last Poets, Brother Ali, The Jungle Brothers, Redman, Method Man, Snoop Dogg and many more.

His performance history includes Chicago's legendary House of Blues, where he delivered an independently billed set immediately preceding Talib Kweli, as well as appearances at music festivals, cultural institutions, and other notable venues.

 

SB's television performance credits include appearances on WGN's nationally syndicated morning show and FOX television, extending his reach beyond concert stages and into broadcast media.

His recording career includes collaborations with accomplished producers and musicians such as No I.D. (Common, Kanye West, Jay-Z), Hula & K. Fingers / Azza (DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince), Tye Hill (The Cool Kids), Vudu (Ludacris, Jamie Foxx, Chingy), DJ I.C. Dre (Twista), and Beat Royalty (Sabrina Starke, Hoodie Allen, Natasha Slagtand).

SB's creative work has reached audiences through radio, television, live performance, film, gaming, and international media. His catalog includes the album REVOLUSEAN and “Reppin The GO (Soul Bounce Mix),” his 2024 collaboration with Genesis7 and DJ RoughSoul. The single has surpassed 500,000 Spotify streams.

SB's accomplishments include being named one of NMS's Top 100 Artists On The Verge and being recognized by the Chicago Tribune as one of Chicago's ten hottest rising artists. These early recognitions helped establish a career that has continued to evolve through music, performance, education and cultural engagement.

Today, SB is bringing his Chicago-rooted perspective to Austin, Texas, entering a new chapter of creative growth, collaboration and cultural engagement.

As part of the evoluSEAN chapter, SB is building new relationships with Austin musicians, artists, producers, cultural organizations and creative communities while expanding his live performance presence throughout Austin, Texas, across the United States and internationally.

​

Austin represents a new creative frontier—one where his Chicago foundation can intersect with new sounds, new collaborators, new audiences and new cultural possibilities.

​

SB is actively pursuing performance opportunities in Austin and throughout Texas, nationally and internationally, including opportunities associated with major music and cultural events such as South by Southwest (SXSW).

The goal is not simply to become part of Austin's music scene. It is to contribute something meaningful to it.

Through Balancing The Bias — Cracking The Mind thru Critical Thinking and R.E.A.C.H. (Revitalizing Education, Art & Culture through Hip-Hop), SB has used hip-hop as a vehicle for education, dialogue and empowerment in K-12 schools, colleges, universities and community settings.

 

His educational programming explores the connections between hip-hop, history, artistic expression, cultural identity, and critical thinking, demonstrating the power of music to engage and inspire learners.
